eQNet - Quality Network for a European Learning Resource Exchange Guest

In eQNet we are interested in how users perceive and use learning resources that "travel well". This means that the resource come from a country different than that of the users' and/or is in a language different from the user's mother tongue.  Similar cross-context interactions take place in many areas of technology-enhanced learning when users cross their own language, country or curriculum boundaries.

As the great potential of learning resource lies in their reuse, facilitating such cross-context use becomes important. In the eQNet project, among other things, we are looking at how users’ digital traces can be used to enhance cross-context discovery and identification of “travel well” learning resources.

For this purpose, European Schoolnet (through the eQNet project) took part in the dataTEL initiative last September (2010). Seven datasets were provided (http://www.teleurope.eu/pg/pages/view/50630), you can find the description of our "travel well dataset" here. The dataset contains anonymous information on how users bookmark and rate resources on the LRE portal. The dataset thus allows (anonymous) tracking of the users' interests on “travel well” resources, information which can be used to create better search features for "travel well" resources.
